The chart below gives a quick overview of the optimal heart health goals typically recommended by health experts.

Risk Goal
Blood pressure Top number less than 120 and bottom number less than 80
Cholesterol A total cholesterol of about 150 mg/dL
Fasting glucose 70 to 99 mg/dL
BMI

Between 18.5 and 24.5

Waist Circumference Less than 40 inches for men and less than 35 inches for women.
