Emergency Care
Time is of the essence when you’re suddenly facing a medical emergency. It’s normal to feel shaken and scared, but find peace of mind knowing our emergency teams are here to help 24/7, including on weekends and holidays.
Emergency room visits are for serious or life-threatening situations that can result in the loss of a limb or life, or result in permanent damage. Patients are triaged and seen based on how severe their case is. Visit the ER or call 911 for things like heart attack and stroke symptoms, broken bones, loss of consciousness, head injuries, poisoning, seizures and allergic reactions.

Urgent Care
Urgent care facilities are for non-emergency situations; they can be used as walk-in clinics for minor or serious (but non-life-threatening) illnesses or injuries. This kind of care is meant to be convenient with short wait times available outside of regular primary care office hours, like on evenings and weekends.
Urgent care providers can prescribe medication to treat what brings you in. They’re equipped to stitch wounds, perform basic tests and can even provide some vaccinations. Certain urgent care locations can perform X-rays, CT scans and more, but they may refer you to the ER if your condition requires a higher level of care. You can use urgent care for things like ear infections, flu, strep throat, minor sprains and strains, pink eye and animal/insect bites.

Video Visits
We know it’s not always easy to leave home when you’re under the weather. We offer virtual care that can be a great option for many symptoms and situations. A video visit via the AdventHealth app is a convenient option for a face-to-face appointment with a primary care physician, specialist or other health care provider. In many cases, your provider can deliver a diagnosis and treatment plan just like they would during an in-person visit.
If you need a prescription, your provider can call it in to your pharmacy. They may request follow-up lab work or screenings. You can use video visits for things like cold and flu symptoms, ear and eye infections, seasonal allergies, skin conditions, and UTIs.
