Q:Question: Are there different types of mammograms?
A:Answer:Mammography is used for screening and to make a diagnosis. A screening mammogram is an X-ray of the breast to detect breast changes when you have no concerns or signs of possible breast cancer. It usually involves two X-rays of each breast. A diagnostic mammogram is a breast X-ray to diagnose unusual changes, such as a lump, pain, nipple thickening or discharge, or a change in breast size or shape.
