Specialized OB Emergency Services

A health emergency during pregnancy requires a special level of care. That’s why we have the only Obstetric Emergency Department (OBED) in Northwest Georgia equipped to treat expectant moms and their babies. The OBED is an extension of our main emergency room and is staffed 24/7 with experienced OB hospitalists who are specialists in obstetric medicine. The OBED treats pregnancy- and postpartum-related concerns like abdominal pain, preterm labor, preeclampsia, abnormal vaginal bleeding, ruptured membranes, labor checks, bladder infections, decreased fetal movement and increased blood pressure. It offers pregnant women immediate access to a physician at all hours. We hope you and your baby never need emergency care — but find peace of mind knowing we’re ready around the clock.
